my ethos

In my study of all things sound, the first thing I learned was tedious attention to detail. This habit has aided tremendously in my transition to the world of costume; I like to spend as much time as I can considering how each element of an outfit might impact or be informed by the circumstances of its moment. I really love to find ways to reflect themes, relationships, and character arcs through subtle changes in clothes and accessories, and I rely on research and reference to add layers to this visual communication. While I gravitate towards historical projects, my thorough knowledge of costume and dress history is beneficial in any kind of work -- clothes influence movement, mood, behavior, and everything in between, so understanding the intricacies of all those factors is part of what sets my work apart. Everything from color to fabric to ornamentation to the cut of a garment tells the story, and making those decisions intentionally is what I love the most about costuming.

my story (briefly)

In May of 2024, I graduated from New York University's Tisch School of the Arts with a BFA in film and television. I primarily studied all things sound -- mixing, mastering, editing, composing, etcetera -- while secretly nursing a fierce passion for fashion and its history. Since graduating, I've costumed for independent films and small theaters all over New York, with the same aim for each: to do something new. As a result, I've cultivated skill in everything from historical handstitching, to custom bedazzling, contemporary styling, and so much more. Check out my portfolio to see a selection of my work!
